Snapshots from Vietnam
My “Snapshots” series are a collection of 35mm film scans from all over the world. Sold as 2 and 3 packs of matched prints to capture the essence of the beautiful places I visit.
My trip to Viet Nam was a truly special experience. A place I always wanted to visit and made the effort to make come true in late 2024. I wanted to learn about the heroes of the Viet Cong and how they fought to liberate their land from the french and american invasions. I thought that visiting ‘Nam would make me feel better about the current situation in my hometown of Gaza but it actually made me feel much worse ngl. A world of repeated injustices, repeated stories of death, destruction, displacement and suffering. But the heroes of Viet Nam were victorious and continue to rebuild their nation to this day. Seeing their resilience and insurmountable strength is so inspiring. Today Viet Nam is a joy to visit with some of the tastiest food, friendliest locals and easy-to-travel cities. I highly recommend this beautiful place. These photos heavily feature one of my favorite parts of Viet Nam, the iconic ‘Non La’ pointy hat which is worn by locals. I came home with two of them and had to wear them on the plane the whole time so they wouldn’t get crushed.
