Gyeongbokgung Palace Details on 35mm film

from $70.00

The largest of the 5 palaces of the Korean Joseon Dynasty is a popular tourist destination in Seoul. I learned in Japan that these styles of castles have very intricately painted undersides that are immensely difficult to photograph so I made sure to visit at high noon to catch the reflection of the directly-overhead light. This worked like a charm to capture the details of the vibrant green paint on the undersides of the roof tops. This tesselated view of the details is exceptional as a 13x19” print.

Shot on Kodak Portra 160 35mm film.
