The ancient bristlecone pine forest is at about 11,000ft elevation in the sierra nevada mountains. One of the most unique stops along the iconic highway 395 (one of the best roadtrips in the country!). These trees are over 4,000 years old and only found in this particular spot. A truly amazing place to spend the night under dark skies. In this image I captured about 45 minutes of the earths rotation and stacked them to demonstrate the way the stars move across the sky.
