Nestled in the heart of Central America, Guatemala is a country that boasts stunning natural beauty, rich culture, and a deep sense of history. This two-week travel guide will take you on an unforgettable journey through some of Guatemala's most iconic destinations: the charming colonial town of Antigua and the breathtaking Lake Atitlan. In this guide, we'll dive into the vibrant streets of Antigua, explore the challenging yet rewarding Mount Acatenango hike, and unwind in the serene beauty of Lake Atitlan.

Tips for Your Journey:

  1. Safety: Guatemala is generally safe for tourists, but be cautious in crowded areas and avoid displaying valuable items.

  2. Language: While Spanish is the official language, English is spoken in many tourist areas. Learn a few phrases to show respect.

  3. Currency: The currency is the Guatemalan Quetzal (GTQ). Credit cards are accepted in most places, but definitely carry some cash for markets and smaller businesses.

  4. Weather: Guatemala has a diverse climate, so pack accordingly. Antigua is cooler due to its higher elevation, while Lake Atitlán is more temperate, and pack layers if you’re thinking of hiking!

  5. Respect Local Culture: Especially when visiting religious sites, and ask for permission before taking photos of locals
