A few practical tips for visiting Boston:

Bring comfy walking shoes, most of the city is very accessible by foot.

Get a T pass for the duration of the time of your visit. The train and bus system will take you where you need to go between walking. This will require some patience as it kind of sucks but it will save you a lot of money on transportation. Renting a car/driving/parking in Boston is the worst don’t even try it’s not worth it in my opinion.

Consistently check the weather before your visit. The humidity can be brutal in the warm months and this can help you pack accordingly. If visiting in the fall or winter be sure to pack layers! I always recommend merino wool or if you’d like some warmth on a budget, Uniqlo heattech gets the job done.

Abdul’s Favorites:

Lobster rolls - There are two types of lobster rolls. A lobster salad roll with mayo that’s served cold, and a hot butter roll that’s served warm… the latter is infinitely superior in every measurable way although the cold roll has it’s place. Primarily a very hot day is where these shine. A nice august day on Castle Island watching the planes land at the airport and grabbing a cold lobster roll sounds pretty nice right now. I miss boston every day.

Neptune Oyster on salem street in the north end is the best lobster roll in the city. It’s a tiny restaurant and there’s almost always a wait so prepare for this if you’re really hungry. I’ve had success going early on a weekday and having no line but if it’s a weekend you’re gonna wait. It’s worth it tho trust me.

Yankee Lobster in the Seaport is a more chill option. It’s a grab and go type situation which works well for the location. You get a little tray with a hot butter or cold lobster roll to take around the harbor and eat.

Even Tide in Fenway - these are probably the smallest lobster rolls out of these options but god they are soooo good. They use this browned butter that makes them just absolutely amazing. big big big big recommend if you’re in fenway. I’m pissed at how small they are though for the price it’s upsetting. There’s also one in Portland, Maine!

Anna’s Favorites

Walk from Fenway, down Commonwealth Ave and into the Public Garden! Spending some time in Kenmore, grabbing a coffee and walking this path is such a great & beautiful way to spend time exploring Boston. There are tons of statues along Com and the brownstones that line it are to die for. End in the Public Garden for a Swan Boat ride or even continue into the Common :)

Boomerangs Thrift Stores - Easily my most shopped spot in Boston. I frequented the Jamaica Plain location but there is also one in the South End!  They always have some good clothing and decor items.

Flour Bakery & Cafe - Order the Applewood Smoked Bacon Sandwich, and a slice Coconut Creme Pie. Maybe a Sticky Bun. Thank me later.

GRECO - I dream of their zuchinni chips!! Alwyas went for either the Chicken Pita or Veggie. I was straight addicted to this place for a whole summer. There are two locations; Newbury Street and Milk Street, Downtown Crossing.
